Kings Taxis, Preston: From Autocab to One System for Dispatch, App and Website
The Short Answer
Kings Taxis in Preston moved from Autocab to Cabica because Autocab cost too much for a firm their size. They now run dispatch, their own passenger app and a new website on one system. Website bookings are paid by card before they are accepted, minibus bookings ask how many are travelling, and the website kept every page address from their old WordPress site when it went live.
Majid owns Kings Taxis in Preston. His reason for moving was the simplest of the four firms we have written about: the bill.
“Autocab was costing us far too much for a firm our size. With Cabica we have dispatch, our own passenger app and a new booking website all working together, and we are paying a lot less for it. Everything is in one place now.”
— Majid, Owner, Kings Taxis
One system instead of several
Kings wanted dispatch, a passenger app and a website that books, without three suppliers. All three now run on Cabica, and every booking, whichever way it arrives, lands on the same dispatch board.
Their own passenger app
Kings were the first firm on Cabica to publish the passenger app under their own Google Play account, and their iPhone app goes out on their own Apple account, with their own car pictures. If they ever leave, the app stays theirs. Our guide to white-label taxi apps explains why that matters.
A website that takes the booking and the money
- Card payment up front. Kings take website bookings by card only, so a website booking is held until the payment goes through, on Kings’ own Stripe account.
- A new website on their own domain, built with them, with the booking form on it, live tracking links and the road from the car drawn on the map.
- Every old page address kept. The new site kept the addresses of their old WordPress pages, so links to the old site still land on the right page. More on why in local SEO for taxi firms.
- Google Ads conversions measured, so they can see which adverts lead to bookings.
Built at their request
Kings run a minibus. At their request, a booking option can ask how many people are travelling, and the app will not book without it, so dispatch can send a car with enough seats. A firm can also show a short notice before anyone books, for the things passengers should know first. Both are now open to every firm on Cabica.
