What’s New in Cabica: October 2026

Cabica5 min read

The Short Answer

In October 2026 Cabica shipped a floating meter for iPhone that stays on screen over Google Maps and Waze, chauffeur services (hourly hire, meet and greet, and quotes with a card deposit), a phone that runs inside the dispatch screen with call recording and a second line, the CRM laid out for a phone, jobs for offline drivers, a road line on every tracking map, and stops and vehicle choice on booking websites. Every change below is live; chauffeur services and the phone are switched on per firm.

Every month we write down what changed in Cabica, so that firms on it know what is new and firms looking at it can see how often it moves. These are the changes that reached firms in October 2026. Most of them were asked for by an operator; where that is the case, we say so.

The meter floats over other apps on iPhone

While a metered trip runs, the fare, distance and time now stay on screen over Google Maps, Waze or any other app on iPhone, as they already did on Android. The fare also shows on the lock screen and, on iPhones with the Dynamic Island, at the top of the screen. It is in Cabica Driver 11.6, approved by Apple on 26 October; firms can switch the floating meter off for their drivers. More in the floating taxi meter for iOS.

Chauffeur services

Asked for after a chauffeur company found that taxi software did not fit its work. Switched on for each firm by Cabica, it adds:

  • Hourly hire, priced at each vehicle class’s hourly rate, with a shortest hire.
  • Meet and greet, with the firm’s fee and the name for the board. On the job, *Show Name Board* puts the name full screen in the driver app.
  • Quote requests from the website, the app or the office, priced and sent by the office with a private link, and accepted with an optional card deposit that comes off what the driver collects.
  • A chauffeur website and a chauffeur passenger app in the firm’s own name.

The full picture is on the chauffeur booking software page.

The phone in the dispatch screen

For firms with Cabica Comms whose lines run on Telnyx, the office phone now runs in the browser, on the Booking & Dispatch screen:

  • A second line, to hold one call while you ring a colleague.
  • Call recording, including calls between colleagues and between drivers and passengers, kept with the booking, when the firm switches it on.
  • Masked calls: driver and passenger can ring each other without either seeing the other’s number.
  • A greeting for every caller, typed in the line’s voice or the firm’s own recording, and a phone menu (“press 1 to book”).
  • A call a colleague answered no longer shows as missed, and a forwarded call shows the real caller.

Firms on Yay.com and Wavetel keep the caller pop-up they already had: the caller’s record opens while the phone is still ringing.

The CRM on a phone

Asked for by an owner who wanted to run the office from a phone. On a phone the dispatch board becomes one column with a card for each job, the selected job opens as a sheet, the menus fold into a drawer and wide tables scroll sideways. The desk layout is unchanged.

Jobs for offline drivers

With Give jobs to offline drivers switched on, an offer, a Dispatch or a Force Assign can go to a driver who is offline. Accepting puts them on duty for that job, and back offline after it. Useful for the driver who is not working tonight but will take the one airport run.

A line from the car on every tracking map

The tracking link a passenger opens now draws the road from the car to the pickup while the driver is on the way, and to the destination once the passenger is on board, in the firm’s colour. Fewer “where is my taxi?” calls.

Booking websites: stops, and the right car at the right price

  • Up to three stops on every booking and quote form. A metered or mileage fare includes the detour; a fixed zone-to-zone price does not change.
  • A vehicle choice, priced on its own tariff, so a party of six pays the larger car’s fare. More passengers than a car seats moves the booking to one that fits.
  • “Powered by Cabica” under every booking form.

Smaller changes

  • A tariff for a passenger-app booking option. An option such as *Assist* can go to every kind of car and still be charged like a saloon.
  • The drivers’ zones list in the firm’s own order, asked for by Worcester Cabs.
  • Address search asks Google once per address instead of two or three times, which lowers the firm’s Maps bill.

What each plan includes is on the pricing page. If you run a firm on Cabica and want something changed, tell us: most of the list above started that way.

Frequently Asked Questions

What changed in Cabica in October 2026?
A floating meter for iPhone over Google Maps and Waze (Cabica Driver 11.6), chauffeur services, a phone in the dispatch screen with a second line, call recording and masked calls, the CRM laid out for a phone, jobs for offline drivers, a road line on tracking maps, and stops and vehicle choice on booking websites.
Do Cabica updates cost extra?
Updates reach every firm on its existing plan with no price change. A few features are switched on per firm, such as chauffeur services and Cabica Comms (the phone), and some need the firm’s own account with a provider, such as Telnyx for the phone in the dispatch screen.
